Concur made available a new online expense reporting system for small businesses.

Called Concur Breeze and available through the Google Apps Marketplace, the system "automatically creates expense reports using electronic data imported directly from both personal and corporate credit card charges," and includes review and approval functions, according to the company. Concur Breeze incurs an $8 monthly fee per user. It is currently available in the United States, with availability in other countries expected by year-end. According to Concur, "joint Google Apps/Concur clients" this year will be offered "enhanced expense data reporting and analysis."

Concur reported record June quarter revenue of $75 million, 20 percent more than a year ago. Net income was $3.7 million, about half the $7.2 million reported a year earlier. The company slightly trimmed its revenue growth expectations for the September quarter to 18 percent from 20 percent. Travel transactions in the June quarter were "ahead of expectations and are clearly continuing to trend back towards the waterline," CEO and chariman Steve Singh said, warning that volumes are "still well below pre-recession levels and it will likely take at least until the end of 2011" to exceed those levels.

NBTA called on the U.S. Department of Transportation to "use its existing and common sense authority to direct the airlines to provide full transparency" on ancillary fees. According to comments provided by NBTA to a congressional subcommittee examining airline fees, "ancillary fees are ultimately part of the total net fare. It is imperative that airlines provide full transparency to the public, including corporate travel managers and travel agencies, with regard to all fares, fees and other charges related to transporting passengers and their luggage, as well as booking, ticketing, billing, and fulfilling those services." NBTA also wrote that it formed a task force to seek solutions for challenges related to ancillary fees. It includes representatives from AirPlus, Amadeus, American Airlines, American Express, ARC, Airilne Tariff Publishing Company, BCD Travel, Concur, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, MasterCard, Monsanto, Sabre, Thomson Reuters, 3sixtysourcing, TRX and US Airways.
