Part of Conducive's Agent Advantage suite and due for release this year, the new services also use Mobiata's TripDeck mobile app to give "corporate travel management companies the ability to deliver branded itinerary information and real-time service updates directly to the traveler via the TripDeck mobile application installed on the travelers mobile phone," the companies announced. FlightStats is widely used for flight status information and ontime performance data. August 9, 2010 Concur added a variety of services and content sources to its mobile solutions, including smartphone-based Amtrak bookings, flight tracking from Mobiata, GateGuru's airport dining and shopping information, public transport info from MetrO by Kinevia and services from Open Table and Taxi Magic. August 9, 2010 Concur announced "strategic distribution agreements" for its mobile solutions with a collection of travel management companies including Adelman Travel Systems, Atlas Travel International, Azumano Travel Service, Fox World Travel, The Travel Authority, Travel and Transport, Travel Destination Management Group, Travel Incorporated, World Travel Service and World Travel Inc. Using Concur's mobile application-programming interfaces, the TMCs "will send business travel itineraries that will be integrated with Concur's mobile platform," Concur stated. July 20, 2010 Concur is adding to its mobile and travel solutions OAG's real-time flight status info "such as delays, cancellations, terminal/gate updates and baggage claim information", the companies announced. OAG's "direct connections into airlines' operational systems" provide departure and arrival times, change alerts, terminal locations and searches for alternative flights. OAG is part of UBM Aviation. July 6, 2010 Hogg Robinson Group will offer clients Sabre's TripCase mobile itinerary management and messaging application, the travel management company announced. June 28, 2010 Concur said its Concur Breeze small business expense management solution is now available as a mobile application for Android and iPhone smartphones, with BlackBerry downloads coming in July. The mobile solution is free to Breeze users. Mobile users can "import credit card transaction data to automatically create a new expense report; edit expenses, delete expenses or enter new expenses for items such as meals or tips; assign an appropriate classification for each expense; capture the receipt image and automatically attach it to the expense; submit an expense report for approval; and review reports details, approve or reject expense reports," the company announced. June 15, 2010 Sabre Travel Network unveiled for reporters its Red "total travel agency solution," including a new graphical interface currently in testing by 250 travel agencies. Those agencies are scheduled to make a formal upgrade within the next month, while other clients will upgrade during the second half of the year, Sabre officials said. Similar to emerging solutions from competitors Amadeus, Farelogix and Travelport, Red offers new capabilities for ancillary services shopping, leverages the company's latest profiles system, includes community concepts, moves some quality-control functions to the point of sale and is both multi-source and multi-GDS, according to officials. Also incorporating mobile device integration and preferred supplier agreement support, Red would eventually replace Sabre's MySabre. May 17, 2010 Sabre GetThere is working on policy-compliant booking capabilities for corporate travelers using its TripCase mobile solutions. "Hotel booking is expected by the end of this year, with options to book air and car anticipated for 2011," Sabre announced. May 17, 2010 Sabre's GetThere and TripCase units teamed up to offer, by the third quarter, mobile solutions to GetThere clients. Sabre announced that GetThere would provide clients with traveler messaging as well as TripCase's existing, English-language mobile services including itinerary forwarding, sharing and synchronization; flight alerts and status; and gate and baggage locations. TripCase is available for Android, BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Mobile. Sabre also said this year it would enable automatic passenger name record synchronization with other global distribution systems. Travelers using the Sabre GDS already enjoy automated updates, while bookings made in other GDSs or Web sites can be synchronized when the traveler forwards his or her email confirmation to TripCase. May 11, 2010 Travelport announced a deal with WorldMate to offer mobile technology to travel management companies and corporate travelers in the United States and Canada. In addition to real-time travel updates, alerts and other mobile travel services, the arrangement will enable TMCs to "private-label the application and provide special features, including direct click-to-call, which offers customers a simple way to connect to their designated travel representative," first via Blackberry devices and "soon" with iPhones and Nokia devices, according to Travelport. WorldMate CEO Jean Tripier said the deal will provide "real-time information and transactional capabilities that were never seen before on a smartphone." May 4, 2010 Carlson Wagonlit Travel signed "non-exclusive, global referral agreements" with mobile technology providers conTgo and WorldMate for their SMS and smartphone solutions, respectively. "This is the first phase of an extensive plan CWT has to increasingly offer its products and services via mobile channels and social networks," the company stated. Itineraries, flight status alerts and messaging on security issues and policy compliance are among the services to be made available from CWT through the partners. "The market offers a variety of premium-priced, mobile solutions from which to choose and travelers often make their own selection so they can stay well informed and in control before, during and after their trip," according to Andrew Winterton, CWT president for suppliers, products and technology. "Companies that do not offer travelers a managed mobile solution incur higher costs, inadvertently encourage non-compliant decisions, and risk the spread of confidential information through social networks." American Express Business Travel last week announced an alliance with WorldMate, building on its own mobile partnerships with Rearden Commerce and conTGo.
