August 8, 2010 Travelocity Business announced "a first step in improving visibility into airline ancillary fees," which "can range from 2 percent to 10 percent of a traveler's average ticket price. Travelocity Business is able to break ancillary fees by carrier, then by category. The company will also be able to report the carrier with the highest prices by category." Travelocity Business developed an "algorithm that looks at credit card reports from customers and determines what charges are attributable to ancillary fees." June 28, 2010 ExpenseWatch.com added a custom reporting module that provides corporate users with new visualization tools to build, view and schedule delivery of reports, and dashboards to analyze spending data captured in the expense management system. June 28, 2010 Concur said its Concur Breeze small business expense management solution is now available as a mobile application for Android and iPhone smartphones, with BlackBerry downloads coming in July. The mobile solution is free to Breeze users. Mobile users can "import credit card transaction data to automatically create a new expense report; edit expenses, delete expenses or enter new expenses for items such as meals or tips; assign an appropriate classification for each expense; capture the receipt image and automatically attach it to the expense; submit an expense report for approval; and review reports details, approve or reject expense reports," the company announced. June 23, 2010 Travelocity Business partnered with payroll and tax filing service CompuPay as well as expense vendor Certify to provide "integrated online travel and expense management" to CompuPay clients, the companies announced. June 4, 2010 Former Travelocity Business VP of sales and account management DeAnne Dale joined Short's Travel Management as chief sales officer. June 3, 2010 Travelport and Rearden Commerce announced a "multi-year partnership that will result in delivery of a combined travel, procurement and expense management solution for travel management companies, existing corporate customers, and corporations in the United States and Canada." Travelport would offer the Rearden product and also continue providing its "flagship" Traversa corporate booking tool as part of what the company called a "new approach." According to its statement, "The addition of Rearden Commerce to Travelport's portfolio ensures corporations can benefit from both the depth and breadth of Travelport GDS content, along with the industry’s best solutions to manage travel and traditionally overlooked areas of spend." June 2, 2010 American Express is offering mid-market card clients the low-end Concur Breeze expense management solution. The payment firm announced for customers an "exclusive" 60-day free trial, after which Breeze's $8 per-user, per-month pricing kicks in. That price drops to $7 for companies with more than 25 users in Concur's standard offering. American Express is an investor in Concur, and its card and business travel divisions resell its travel and expense solutions.
