August 13, 2010 Sabre Travel Network and Cisco are planning to create a telepresence distribution and reservation platform, "enabling agencies and corporations to book services from any telepresence provider and any point of sale," the companies announced. "Users will be able to view room availability in real time, book meetings and review applicable rates and restrictions. Public telepresence providers and private corporations will have the ability to provide open or restricted access to their rooms through the platform."

Open Axis launched in July to advocate for XML "as the optimal electronic messaging structure for airline system connectivity used in content distribution."

August 11, 2010 TRX enabled its Correx reservation processing tool to interact with such third-party travel applications as online booking systems and agent desktops. The integration, for "unused e-ticket tracking, schedule change processing or auto-ticketing," eliminates the need to "queue" passenger name records through global distribution systems, "thereby reducing overall processing times and improving reservation quality," TRX announced.
August 11, 2010 Conducive Technology Corp. partnered with Mobiata to create itinerary "monitoring, viewing and messaging services" for travel agencies using its FlightStats flight and itinerary monitoring solution. Part of Conducive's Agent Advantage suite and due for release this year, the new services also use Mobiata's TripDeck mobile app to give "corporate travel management companies the ability to deliver branded itinerary information and real-time service updates directly to the traveler via the TripDeck mobile application installed on the travelers mobile phone," the companies announced. FlightStats is widely used for flight status information and ontime performance data.
